*Rick Ross has formally apologized for lyrics some have called pro-rape, even after justifying them. On Thursday he tweeted his apology, the same day a women’s group, UltraViolet, planned a protest outside of one of his sponsor companies, Reebok, in Manhattan. In Rocko’s song “U.O.E.N.O,” Ross raps about giving a woman the drug MDMA, known as Molly, and having his way with her. The song was released in January but just recently began getting widespread notice. He also offered “apologies to my many business partners, who would never promote violence against women,” specifically mentioning Reebok and UltraViolet.
*Wesley Snipes is a free man. Well, almost. The Federal Bureau of Prisons tells TMZ that Snipes was released on April 2 and transferred to the New York Community Corrections Office, which will oversee his home confinement. Home confinement (aka house arrest) will end July 19. It was December, 2010 when Snipes checked into McKean Federal Correctional Institution in Pennsylvania after he was convicted for failing to file federal income tax returns.
